My grandma and I are very close. We write letters and cards back and forth, I call her a couple of times a week, and I’ve vacationed with her three or four times in just the last year.  She even knows all the right things to say when I’m lamenting the fact that Josh Groban isn’t my boyfriend (yet).

That’s all to say that I totally understand the importance of grandmothers.

What I don’t understand is answering the phone during a date, for grandmothers or otherwise. Unless we’re on a marathon, several hour long date, I think you can live without checking your phone while you get to know me.
